A Touch of HD Make Up | Make Up For Ever

Let’s be honest girls, makeup is the key to pulling any look together, right? Well take a look at the brand ‘Makeup Forever’ that I am absolutely in love with at the moment. The finish of their products is amazing and they really do suit all skin types, which is rare for such an affordable makeup brand. The ‘Makeup Forever’ brand is brilliant for all round use from day to day, nights out, weddings, it creates enough coverage for TV filming on camera and perfect for photo shoots with the products having a HD finish.
Trying out some of their great products I have picked some of my favourites:
Ultra HD foundation gives you the perfect finish with giving you a beautiful glow without any oiliness. It gives a good amount of coverage (perfect for covering blemishes or dark circles after a heavy night out) and it’s very buildable if you want even more coverage. As mentioned before this foundation is perfect for any occasion especially those special ones where you will be in front of the camera, keeping you looking flawless all day.

Another great product for the face is: Full Coverage Concealer. The name of the product says it all, it really does give you full coverage and even using a small amount the effect is amazing, it literally lasts forever because you really don't need to use a lot of product at all. The concealer is my favourite as it isn’t at all thick so it feels weightless on your skin and doesn’t start to wear off or start to look cakey during the day. I also love the HD Concealer. I like to use this as part of my highlighting process, using the lightest shade it creates a great highlight a glow and it doesn't crease under the eyes.

Their cute little Mix & Fix Spray is a perfect and should quite frankly be an essential part of every girls makeup bag! The spray is really hydrating on the skin and can be used throughout the makeup regime, at the end to fix it all into place and throughout the day if you feel that your face needs a bit of a refresh. It doesn’t smudge your makeup at all and is feels very light on the skin, sometimes this type of product can mess with the finish of your makeup but this little product just slots straight in and adds the perfect finishing touch as well as hydrating and refreshing your skin.

Lastly their Eyeshadow Pigments are brilliant! They last so long especially on top my favourite Urban Decay Eye Primer Original. I am in love with the eyeshadow tin by the ‘Makeup Forever’ brand as it is magnetic so all of your individual eyeshadows attach inside so they don’t fall out and break

I would say if you are looking for an affordable, HD style and professional looking makeup then these products from  ‘Makeup Forever’ are a must in your make up bag!
If any of you use their products I would love to hear what your favourites are.

Timberlands

So autumn/winter is here which means it’s officially Timberlands weather! And that means before we know it it’ll be freezing winter, yet it only seems like summer was yesterday. I’ve put this outfit together combining all the seasons together. I’m clinging onto a bit of summer still wearing my white jeans, but I’ve got my winter bomber jacket on whilst wearing my Timberlands. I’ve wanted some Timberlands for ages so finally invested in some, and I haven’t looked back since! I can’t say I’m much of an autumn fan, I’d rather either be on the beach with a Mojitos in the summer or wrapped up at home with a hot chocolate in the winter, the drizzly autumn season isn’t my favourite but I’m loving the fashion this year!

On Shoot with Danepak Bacon

Make up is a passion of mine so seeing my work on screen or in print is a great feeling. Being on a shoot is all about the teamwork, not just working for you, but about fulfilling your creativity whilst creating a look that both you and the client are super happy with.

I was on a video shoot a few weeks ago for Danepak bacon and an social media campaign of theirs. It was a great experience working with some fantastic directors and stylists. When I got offered the job I didn’t hesitate to take it as I knew it would be a fantastic experience, but ten minutes later and I found myself terrified after reality set in and it suddenly dawned on me that it was rather a big gig. Although I am confident in what I do I always get the same thoughts creeping in, what if they aren’t happy, what if I can’t do what they want?

With any job, planning is vital for a photo-shoot. How to prepare for studio and on-location shoots and what to keep in mind? Everyone has his or her own routine, but as we can sometimes forget the obvious things, here are my top pointers:

1. Spend time the night before any job putting your kit into perfect order and ensure all brushes are super clean. If everything is sorted, you can then relax the night before and thing about the job ahead.

2. Keep your creative vision in your mind at all times. Remember that the design of the make-up is always a collaboration between a few people and not just yourself; it’s down to the photographer, stylist, director, hair-stylist and client too. The photographer or director will set a brief and then it’s up to you as make-up artist to work alongside the stylist to decide on a colour palette and how the make-up should be exactly.

3. Always stay organized! Take practical things with you and always be prepared. Keep your workspace (and you!) looking neat and tidy and being organized in your workspace will help you to work quickly when time is short.

4. Be flexible and always wear a smile! You will always get on better when you have a comprehensive kit that can cater for any situation, but be prepared that things can change! And when they change, be flexible and say ‘of course’ – even if inside, you are panicking, realizing how much longer this request will take – just smile!!

The night before the Danepak job my good friend Chrystal agreed to come along and help me on the shoot so all the worries of going it alone were gone and I became more excited about the whole experience. Once I arrived on set, all of my worries were gone and I immediately relaxed into the job, enjoying every minute of the hectic, fast paced job.

LUXEMME LOVE

It’s always a problem for us ladies: a major event is coming up and the first thing that springs to your mind is ‘What am I going to wear?’

Generally speaking, we go to the shops, look for said outfit, and then come home with a new dress that is a favourite style we know suits us. If you fancy being a bit different and wearing something that you haven’t tried before, try Luxemme, an online fashion outlet that has beautiful outfits, so much so I wish I could have them all. It’s a forward thinking fashion brand that combines Parisian chic with street style and is always on trend. It’s affordable yet luxurious, and just edgy enough to wear with confidence and style!

This crop is part of a 2 piece and I love that I can mix and match and use items in collaboration with other outfits. Drop the dress and try something new….. you might just love it. You can check out their items at Luxemme

WATERFALL COAT

It is fair to say I have a major love for any kind of waterfall jacket or waistcoat right now. This black waterfall coat is perfect as it is light enough that it doesn’t weigh you down and it just looks amazing. Right now this is my GO TO coat. It is an all-rounder from smart to casual so you really can get your use out of it. Team it with skinny jeans and flats, or put a pair of heels on for instant glamour. Either way, it’s a winner and it makes this colder weather a little more "ok" because I can utilise this gorgeous little number.

COMFY CULOTTES

Comfort is key but let’s be honest we still want to feel good in a great outfit and my one staple piece for comfort and style? Culottes.
Culottes are my essential at the moment as you can team them up with basically any style of top and they are so comfy but give you that smart edge. Smart but comfortable = perfection!
I spend a lot of time travelling around on trains and tubes and often have my extremely heavy makeup kit with me. The last thing I want to be doing is trying to re arrange my outfit or worrying about it riding up or looking a mess so I find it really important to feel confident in my outfit whilst turning up to jobs. Meeting new people and working on new projects is nerve wracking enough on its own without having the added stress of what I look like.

So back to culottes. They’re kinda like shorts, kinda like trousers, and definitely the most comfortable thing you’ll ever put on (well, to my knowledge anyway!) But let’s face it, they’re not the easiest thing to pull off (unless you’re an eight foot model with legs like a giraffe).

Anyway, here’s a few tips on how to pull them off this season, with a few pics from me.
You want to make sure you get the right leg length and width as some come in a wider leg and others a longer leg. They also come in a variety of materials; jersey, silk, patterned  – just about every option available!
You don’t want them to swamp your figure, so my general rule of thumb is the shorter you are, choose a pair that skim over your hips and thighs – the less fabric the better and a narrow width, and pair them with heels to give you some height. If you’re lucky enough to have height on your side, you can get away with flat shoes and wider fitting culottes.
Dress them up with a shirt or blouse and heels, or pair with a jumper and wedges – the choice is endless. A blazer will always smarten a pair up too.
Don’t be afraid to experiment; be bold with fabrics and colours and most of all, enjoy!!

FONTHILL ROAD

We all have that one place that we rarely visit but love it because you always come home with a bargain…. or 5!!

My mum is from London as so she knows all the little places to grab a bargain and Fonthill Road is one of my favourites, one of the best-kept secrets of bargain-hunting ladies of North London. It’s no ‘up street shopping centre’; in fact it’s far from that and instead is a little street with individual shops down each side. A lot of the shops are full of evening dresses, wedding dresses and suits but there are a lot of fashion shops where you can grab yourself a bargain if you don’t mind spending a bit of time going through rails and seeing what’s on offer.

Fonthill Road is just behind Finsbury Park train station and off Seven Sisters Road. Lots of shops sell factory-outlet clothing to the trade and general public at ridiculously low prices. Outfits come from all over the globe; Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and India. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the stuff is rubbish, but some of the shops have items which are from high street stores like Topshop and River Island but the label is cut out. The dresses are DRESSES – not exactly the outfit that someone would wear for a supermarket shop (although they do have some cheap, more casual attire) and there are bargains to be had if you look properly. Bridesmaids, people desperate for a new wedding outfit are out in force at Fonthill Road, and it doesn’t disappoint; I reckon most people if searching properly can get a bargain!
